![]() Ok... I have been having major issues with my desktop computer. Im not very educated when it comes to computer but i do know i have windows xp and my ISP is time warner cable. I have had a cable modem with them for about a mth. and up untill about a week ago I had no problems at all. It all started when i went into IE one day and I got an error page that said unable to connect to webpage (or something along those lines). So i automatically thought there was somethng wrong with my modem and ISP. But as I tried diagnostic test (on my own) and through my ISP. I figured out that it is a DNS server problem. I can view Yahoo.com but only when i enter the actual IP address. I CANNOT VIEW ANY OTHER PAGES. I dont have any other IP addresses but i know i can view yahoo with the Ip address. I read in another forum to go into command prompt and enter nslookup and i got a response that said """"Default servers are not available. Default server:unknown Address: 127.0.0.1.I am getting very frustrated with trying to figure this out. I am currently on my mothers laptop and have my modem hooked up to it directly with the ethernet cable. So i know there is not a problem with the modem. Also the modem connects and works fine with my fiancees playstation and xbox360. Also, i have to switch the ethernet from this computer to the one with the dns server problem. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP!-BRITTANY |
