I swear I am going crazy
, even through hours of scouring the internet of solutions I have been unable to find the information I need. I have tried to set out all the information as simply as possible but there is no doubt that there is some information that I have missed. Name of your ISP – Telstra Bigpond Cable (Melbourne, Australia) Modem – Motorolla Surf Board, Model: SB5101i Router – Linksys WRT54GL v1.1 Connection type - wired Version and patch level of Windows – XP Pro, SP 3 The Internet Browser – IE and Firefox Problem symptoms: - On a network with 1 other wired PC and 1 wireless laptop, both other computers are working perfectly - My internet was working until the power was turned off on router and modem temporarily, when power was turned back on internet was not working - When I try to repair local area connection 2 it says “windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: renewing your IP address” and also “TCP/IP is not enables for this connection. Cannot proceed”. - I have also had a message bottom right of the screen that says something like “you have limited or no connectivity” What I have tried: - Releasing and renewing IP in CMD - Downloaded and ran WinsockXpFix twice to no prevail - Hard reset of modem and router (however I knew this wouldn’t help because the other computers are working) - Formatting my whole pc Results from typing the following commands: PING 206.190.60.37 C:\Documents and Settings\liam cusack>ping 206.190.60.37 Pinging 206.190.60.37 with 32 bytes of data: Request timed out.
