Clean Windows Installation Cannot Connect to the Internet.
By Windows, I meant Windows XP Professional and Windows Vista Ultimate.
I installed both of them. My current Windows XP was heavily plagued ( Thanks to Windows 7 ) so I decided to repair the installation. And it didn't come up. That's not the matter. I installed the new Windows XP and it doesn't detect a single networking hardware device. So I got Vista Ultimate. And when I set up a new connection Windows fails to detect any networking hardware. Windows did not detect any networking hardware. And I tried Device Manager. I saw 2 weird devices with the triangle and the !in it. One was from Network Adapters, it's the ETHERNET NIC. When I opened it it said the device cannot start. And an unknown device, Intel 82801GB/GR ICH7 LPC Interface Controller 27BB. The drivers aren't installed, so I think this has something to do with the problem. I figure it was the driver, so I got the disc. Installed it, doesn't work. Any solutions? My Previous Windows 7 RC installed fine ( Uninstalled ) and connected to the internet just fine without any problem. Now Windows XP isn't working for me anymore. |

Re: Clean Windows Installation Cannot Connect to the Internet.
and welcome to the ForumWhat brand/Model is this PC? Try uninstalling the network adaptor in Device manager, then restartto let it "discover the new hardwar . . stop the auto driver installation and download the riight one and install it. Did you install the chipset driver first?

Re: Clean Windows Installation Cannot Connect to the Internet.
I actually don't know the brand and model, but I think it's Asus ( Since the motherboard is from ASUS )
I'm not really sure about this...I messed my computer up enough, should I uninstall the device? I don't know what a chipset driver is...maybe I did install it. |
