Some computers on my network can connect to the network and some can't[MOVED]
I am having a perplexing problem. lets see if I can explain it in full detail. This is our existing computer setup, we have 8 computers. connected to a linksys sr216 switch, which is connected linksys wrt300n router. We have 4 computers downstairs, that are connected through an auxilliary switch (d-link 4 port switch).
Our problems started last friday, 4 of the computers were able to connect to the computers, and 4 weren't (2 from up stairs 2 from downstairs). I though winsock error. I looked at 3 of the 4 computers and found some adaware, etc. and got it removed. I also, did the winsock fix, ipconfig release, ipconfig /renew. however I can't get the ip address connect back up. It is 0.0.0.0. and all the others, subset mask etc. are all the same. as for the last computer. I put the ethernet cord in another port in the switch and it connected back up just fine. However I tried several things with the other 4. like connecting the modem directly to each computer, using a new switch etc. nothing seemed to work. |
