Networking w/ ASUS Pk5
Hi, I am trying to network my laptop into my home computer via an access point. I have an ASUS P5K motherboard that has a wireless card built into it. So, I have installed the ASUS WiFi-AP Solo sofware, started a WEP type security connection. Input my 5 digit hex network key ELVIS, then got to network sharing, create a manual connection using ELVIS. Then got to my laptop it sees the network connects ok, I have internet acces (I have a separate DSL modem connected to my home computer) and all is good; but I can not copy files to my home computer. "You need permissions to perform this action" I can copy files from my home computer to my laptop but not the other way around. I also can not "see" my lap-top from my home computer. I think that I flubbed the security bit. (I thought that I had full acces on an open system) What is 64-bit network key asci wep? Thanks Mark
