Connected but not
Right bear with me on this one, I'll do my best to explain.
Put simply it says I'm connected to the network but I have no internet access and cannot get on to the router homepage, but this only happens on one PC. We have about 7 PCs in the house and the only one that's having troubles is mine. We've got a Belkin N1 modem router, WPA2 security and my wireless adapter is Edimax Ew-7711utn 11n and my OS is XP SP3. My netbook (Asus eee 901) connects fine and never drops signal and I have used my 2nd (spare) desktop pc (running Windows 7 RC) with two different usb adapters (the edimax above and an older 54mbps one) and that also connects without a hitch. The issue comes down to my main desktop where I have tried both adapters and both detect the network, accept the security key and say they are connected to the network yet it is either really slow or fails to connect to either the router home page or any other web page. It keeps showing as being connected at between 135mbps and 121mbps but I don't think that is correct. I wondered if it was just that the network was busy but my netbook managed to still get onto websites at a good speed. I know this is a little bit vague but I don't really know what else to try. I've tried unplugging and re-connecting the adapter, tried the edimax and windows software to connect to the router, uninstalled and re-installed the drivers, tried different usb ports, moved the adapter to different places in the room, offered my soul to satan, crossed my fingers and held a rabbit's foot. Any ideas what else I could try? Thanks |

Re: Connected but not
Do you have the latest drivers for the card?
