Wireless is connected but cannot surf
Hi everyone,
I have spent the last 2 days trying to resolve this problem and I am at a loss. I am not particularly techie, so please be gentle... Up until I took my laptop away for 2 days everything was fine and dandy and I have been surfing the net successfully for months. Whilst away, I did not have any internet access, but now I am back the laptop shows that it is connected wirelessly but I am unable to access the internet. It will not connect through directly connecting to the router, but I am able to connect directly wired to the modem. I have tried various winsock, ipconfig stuff and rebooted everything several times but I am at a loss. This problem only started when I got back and I have not changed any previous settings. I have pinged and seem to connect to the router, but not any websites.. I have a D Link DI-524 router, connected to an old NTL broadband modem. I am running xp on a Dell inspiron 5150 which has a built in wireless card... Please help! I feel pretty sure it must be some kind of configuration problem, I just dont understand why it has suddenly changed itself! |

Re: Wireless is connected but cannot surf
Have you tried resetting the router to factory default settings?
