New router, new problems
So I recently switched to the D-Link Dir-628 Wireless N router and am having mixed results. We pay for a 10mbps connection and we're getting 20mbps, that I don't understand, but I'm not complaining. I'm the only one who's had any issues with the router thus far.
Starting when we got the router I'm having an issue where I can't connect to certain applications after my computer has been booted up for about 15 minutes. It sounds strange, so let me elaborate. As soon as I start my computer I can connect to Teamspeak with no issues. However, if I wait about 15 to 20 minutes (it varies) I get a connection error and I'm not able to connect. If I'm already connected before that certain time it won't disconnect me. However, if I disconnect and try to reconnect I won't be able to get back in until I restart my computer again. It not only happens with Teamspeak but with about 50% of other applications, it's hit and miss. I'm running Windows XP Pro SP3, my router firmware is 1.13. I have 3 ethernet ports available to use (2 on the motherboard, 1 PCI card). I've tried all three different ports with fresh drivers. My motherboard is an ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe. I've tried opening ports, I'm not running any AV or Firewall software. Windows Firewall is also disabled. I've sort of just dealt with this issue for a while but it's getting to be a real inconvenience. The D-Link forums were no help whatsoever so hopefully you guys can be more helpful. |

Re: New router, new problems
Connect directly to the modem and see if you still have difficulties.

Re: New router, new problems
Upgrading the firmware and a reset to factory defaults and reconfiguration fixes a lot of oddball router issues.
