My wierd wireless again
Hello again, it seems I was too quick to claim that my issue with my wireless cards was solved.
Let me quickly re-paint my problem. I have 3 wireless cards installed (formally 2, one on-board b/g card, and 1 n standard card, but I thought it wasnt working so bought a second) They are: D-Link DWA547 Rangebooster (N) 2.4ghz Netgear Rangemax NEXT WN311B (N) 2.4ghz Realtek RTL8187 (B/G) 2.4ghz The router I am using is a Netgear WNDR3300 N duel band. It is currently running at 40mhz (270mbit), but I have also played with the 20mhz (130mbit) setting to no avail. My laptop connects perfectly fine. My desktop g card connects perfectly fine WHEN NO OTHER COMPUTER IS CONNECTED via LAN CABLE. I figured that out a few moments ago when the desktop connected via cable was turned off and I could connect, where as previously none would connect. HOWEVER before tonight that hasn't been a problem. The desktop N cards connect sparodically. At the moment I'm writing this i am connected at excellect signal quality through the g card, and both n cards refuse to connect. What I want to know is that why within all my wireless cards the on-board g card connects the best when the n standard is supposed to be superior in regards to range, also why the network cabled PC effects the connection. I am running vista pro 64bit. |
