Annoying problem with dial-up networking
My friend has to use dial-up at the moment while she sorts out problems with her broadband ISP.
The issue is that when she connects in her living room it works fine, but if she uses the jack in her bedroom to connect there are massive problems. It will sometimes take multiple tries to connect and then when it does it will usually disconnect within a minute or two. The weird thing is that this seems to happen in phases, as in it won't do it at all, and then it will suddenly start doing all of that stuff, not being able to connect, etc. If it matters, this is a Windows XP laptop connecting to AOL. Thanks for any help! |

Re: Annoying problem with dial-up networking
This obviously sounds like you have phone wiring issues. Hard to imagine any other cause if one jack works and another on the same telephone line fails.
