No internet from Ethernet Cable
Hello,
I have an HP laptop that always gets internet from my wireless connection at home. However, im visiting my parents and am attempting to connect to the internet with their ethernet cable. The internet works fine on their computer but when i plug it into mine, it detects the LAN but wont let me reach the internet. I've tried restarting it but thats about all of the ideas i have. Thanks so much everyone. |

Can you access the web interface of their router?
Is MAC filtering enabled?

If this is a direct modem connection, you MUST power cycle the modem whenever you change the attached device. Maybe that's your problem?
