Wireless Range

Hi everyone,

Recently I've renovated my parents shed into a lil' summer residence whilst im home from college, the only thing missing down there is internet.
We have a "108 Mbps Super G™ Wireless ADSL NETGEAR Router" which is apparantly quite good, it manages to give me wireless signal outside on the decking via 3 walls and about 25, but my shed is an additional 25 metres away.

How can i extend the Wireless Range?

Linksys Extenders are pricey here at £50 ($80 US), but if i put this in my kitchen (about 30m from the shed) would it extend the signal to this shed? Would there be any other ways? (Moving the Router Closer is not an option)

Or does anyone know of any cheaper but quality Range Extenders?

I'm in England and I use Sky Broadband if that makes any difference.

You could go for teh extender, but for the same price you could run a 50m Cat5 cable to the shed!

Alternatively you could get a wireless router that supports 802.11n and that would give you the extra signal boost you need.

Some of the more interesting products are this Hawking [HSB2] Hi-Gain WiFi Signal Booster, which can be used on either end of a wireless connection to boost the signal power.

Another way to increase your signal strength is by the use of hi-gain antennas. You can choose from omni-directional or directional models, here are a some examples.

[HAO14SD] Outdoor Hi-Gain 14dBi Directional Antenna Kit

For really long range outdoor applications, this 24dB parabolic WiFi Antenna may be a good choice.

This is just a sample of available products, many people have hi-gain antennas with similar specifications, but I haven't seen any other suppliers of signal boosters.
