Why FOIP?

I am currently looking into Fax server options and have looked at analogue and Fax Over IP. Can anyone explain the benefits of going with FOIP technology instead of an Intellegent Fax board (analogue)?

FOIP doesn't require a a separate analog phone line, and could be a cheaper option.

Johnwill from what i ahve seen FOIP is a more expensive i require information (bullet points) on why i should go for the more elegant solution?

I'd suggest researching the two options.

it seems running FOIP in a virtual enviroment will save cost not only on analogue lines but on installing a seemless fail over. Also there is no requirement for hardware.
