Enable wireless Cisco 800 series router

Hi,

I am attempting to configure a cisco 861W router. This is my first time working on a cisco router, so this is all new to me. I completed the quick start wizard, however when I log into Cisco CP Express I am unable to access the wireless options. I get an error message saying that wireless features are unavailable on my router, and they are only available on wireless capable routers.

This is certainly a wireless capable router, so my thinking is that something is disabled. I tried resetting to the factory defaults and starting again, but that didn't help.

Any help you could provide would be very much appreciated.

Are you using the right address to access the router?

Yes, I have the router plugged directly into my PC and I am able to connect and see/change other setup options, but wireless is unavailable.

Re: Enable wireless Cisco 800 series router

So now you're connected via Ethernet to the router?

Re: Enable wireless Cisco 800 series router

Yes. That is the only way I've ever been connected.

Like I said, this is my first time working on a cisco router, so I was trying to take the easiest path.

Re: Enable wireless Cisco 800 series router

When you did a factory default reset, if you did it manually, how long did you press in the reset button?
