Wireless Going Crazy
Specs:
Notebook - Asus M50VM-A1 Wireless Card - Atheros ar928x OS - Vista 32bit The Story: I was experiencing the "vista lag spikes" which so many people are experiencing so I decided to do something about it. One thing I read was to revert back to XP drivers, so I gave it a shot. That's when everything fell to *****. The XP drivers I installed weren't compatible to I tried reverting back, but they were gone. So I tried uninstalling the drivers and downloading the latest ones for Vista (from another computer). Installed, still a fail. So far I've spent several hours installing/uninstalling/updating various drivers and the wireless is going nuts. Sometimes it gives me the networks, but they immediately disappear. Sometimes I get an error saying that "There are no wireless networks in range" when there so clearly are. Mostly I get "Wireless capabilities are turned off" even though they are on (flipped switch on). So... I want to take it from the top (driver uninstalled) and hopefully someone can give me the right links to the drivers I need. I'm going nuts here. |

Re: Wireless Going Crazy
I believe in god now. Once I finished typing up my message, I went back to my computer and lo and behold, we have connection.
Thanks for replying though. I downloaded and installed all the networking related drivers from that list previously. No idea what could have changed except for the wireless gods being pleased by my sacrifice of time. amen. |
