ehhh what am i doing wrong?

ok i have a small server set up with 15 computers connect to it. i wanted to switch my dsl service so it would involve just swapping the cable from the previous modem to the new modem right? but its not working for some reason... what am i doing wrong?

here's a brief explanation of how everything is set up...

SWITCH 1
12 computers connected to this via ethernet wall jack
1 server connected directly to SWITCH 1

SWITCH 2
3 computers connected to directly to this
SWITCH 2 then connected to SWITCH 3 via ethernet wall jack

SWITCH 1 and SWITCH 3 connects to a FIREWALL

FIREWALL connected directly to MODEM 1

MODEM 1 connected to DSL phone jack

i want to move everything to MODEM 2 which would entail just connecting the firewall to MODEM 2 right? but its not working... i also tried resetting the router, resetting the switches, and resetting the firewall but that didnt help...

another weird thing is i tried to connect a wireless router to the network but that didnt work either.. i tried going through MODEM 1, FIREWALL, and SWITCH 3

any other ideas?

Also, can you provide a the output of "ipconfg /all" from the PCs when you have each modem in place.

Re: ehhh what am i doing wrong?

Can you provide the EXACT make/model of both of the modems and the switches and/or hubs you're using?

Can you connect a single computer to the new modem and test that way? Make SURE you cycle power on the modem whenever you change the attached device.

With that computer connected directly to the modem, let's see this.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter to copy the contents to the clipboard.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
