connection problems
i have a laptop thats running windows XP and i had been preciously using wireless for my main connection but wanted to start using my broadband so i connected my ethernet cord to my laptop and enabled my local area connection to attempt to see if that worked but when the enabling screen came up my computer freezes and then restarts and similar attempts have yielded the same results but now i can move my mouse around a tiny bit b4 it freezes but my mouse moves around for lack of a better word laggingly and was curous how to fix this problem

Reinstall the drivers for the network card.

ok i reinstalled the drivers and it asked me to restart the computer and everything seemed fine but upon opening my control panel the computer froze and further attempts have led it to freeze upon the xp loading screen

Have you tried repairing the connection from Network connections or Device Manager?

did you try to install any software or application?
you can try the following:- 1)restart the computer in safe mode with networking 2)restart the computer and press F8 you will get the advance option 3)select safe mode with networking and try connect to your wireless network. 4)if you are able to go online you can uninstall any program you have installed and try to go online wireless in normal mode. you can also restore you computer to previous date when the computer was working fine . |

make sure you disable all the security software, if you have a cd you can uninstall the security software and try going online.
can also remove all startup items bu going to start->msconfig->click on startup->disable all and restarted the computer. should be able to go online. |
