Limited or no connectivity - DNS lookup fails!

My cousin's computer is having a few issues, he is running on a laptop with Windows XP.

It's having trouble connecting to his Sky Broadband router, as it gets stuck on resolving the address (but signal strength is high), when I do an ipconfig /all on the CMD it all comes up with blank/impossible addresses (EG, one of them is 255.255.255.255 is an impossibly high address, as the highest is 233)
When I try to renew the addresses, I get the error 'DNS server timed out'.

Any ideas?

Windows XP
Open up a command prompt (Start > Run > CMD)
Type the bolded commands in the command prompt window:

Reset TCP/IP Stack: netsh int ip reset reset.log
Reset WINSOCK entries: netsh winsock reset catalog

When finished reboot

Please post the results of the ipconfig /all command.
