Need 1 more unit on network 200' away How?
Good day, I am currently connected to "rural" radio freq Internet via a motorola Canopy 2400sm dish antenna which feeds indoors and hard wires to our "workstation" via Cat5e consisting of a Belkin wireless N+ router, Vonage voip phone device and desk top computer. A wireless laptop also floats around the house, The problem is our shop/garage acts as our buisness office for the time being and it is located in a seperate building 200' from the internet dish and 220' from the router and workstation, I want internet in there for a desktop computer... I Got clear line of sight and the option of overhead wiring is a possibility, What would be the best/ cheapest/easiest way to do that? I have read much on outdoor point to point antennas but the belkin router i just bought has to be litterally taken apart to connect (i think), FYI i have bulk cat5e and an extra wired router laying around, Can a guy just split (or whatever its called) the cat5e on my roof and run it to the shop with a spiltter or something? both connections must be used at same time but gaming or voip bandwith can be sacrificed. Cheers and thanks for any advice in advance

Re: Need 1 more unit on network 200' away How?
Personally, I'd just put a wireless bridge with a hi-gain directional antenna in the office building and point it at the home router. If you locate the home router near a facing Window, it should easily do the trick with an antenna like this. 24dB parabolic WiFi Antenna.
