New setup 2IPs
We were having trouble playing on a game with one IP address before, so I called up my ISP and got a second IP set up.
The old configuration was like this: Modem -Router *Computer 1 *Computer 2 *Computer 3 *Computer 4 - to modem * to router which only let us pull one IP from the modem. I was thinking about setting it up like this: Modem -Switch *Computer 1 *Router =Computer 2 =Computer 3 =Computer 4 - to modem * to switch = to router Will this work? I'm hoping this will allow everything to connect smoothly as well as allow me to pull that second IP from the modem. Last edited by Seilen; 06-05-2009 at 06:27 PM. |

Re: New setup 2IPs
As long as you don't expect Computer 1 to be able to do file/print sharing with the other computers, this should work.
If you want that and two IP addresses, you might consider a router compatible with DD-WRT 3rd party firmware, which handles multiple WAN IP addresses.
