Confused by my options...

I purchased an XBox 360 so I could play games online with my sister who
lives 3000 miles away from me.

I use Clearwire at the moment to get online with my laptop.

My fiance and I have always taken turns hooking our laptops to
the Clearwire modem.

Since we do not have a desktop and I'd like to purchase a router
to use with the XBox-(there's a Wireless Network Adapter I'm going
to get)...

I suppose my question is- which router would be correct to get for
Clearwire to be able to power two laptops wirelessly and the XBox
wirelessly as well?

Re: Confused by my options...

Any wireless Router will support multiple connections, but wired is faster for gaming.
Will the Router be installed near the Xbox unit?

Re: Confused by my options...

The router will be set up about 9 feet from the Xbox. :)

Re: Confused by my options...

Use a cable - if its that close, wired is better and cheaper

Re: Confused by my options...

The router has the ability to run wired and wireless connections at the same time.
I would run wired from the Xbox to the router and wireless to the laptops.

Re: Confused by my options...

I think I may do wired with the XBox and do wireless with both laptops.

It'll mean I have to unhook the cable to the XBox when it's not in use
but that's okay too. If I did it permanently it would have to be across
living room carpet and I'm NOT into tripping. :D

You guys have been amazing! I know, it's not rocket science, but it's
helped me tremendously to get knowledgable opinions.

So thanks.

Re: Confused by my options...

If it's a carpeted room you could run it around the edge of the room the cable comes in a few different colors it may not be that noticeable depending on the colors.
