I don't know if this has been asked before. >_<
Hey everybody, Well my problem is the internet, it's like pissing me off sooo badly. I have a Toshiba Satellite A355D laptop and I have Windows Vista. I also have a linksys router thing. >_< i'll check later for the model and stuff but right now I need help Right now im on my desktop computer. And my internet works fine here.Everytime I connect to the internet It says unindentified network (linksys); It has excellent signal BUT its limited, so no internet. I tried turning off the router and modem and turning it back on but it still didn't work I tried renewing ip but it didnt work either. I went to command prompt and typed in ipconfig/release and it said: The requested operation requires elevation. I also typed in "ipconfig/renew" and it said: Windows IP configuration An error occurred while renewing interface Wireless Connection : unable to contact you DHCP server. Request has timed out. No operation can be performed on Local Area connection while it has its media disconnected Then I typed in "ping 127.0.0.1" it said: Pinging 127.0.0.1 with 32 bytes of data: General failure. General failure. General failure. General failure. Ping statistics for 127.0.0.1: Packets: sent = 4, received = 0, lost = 4 (100% loss) Then comes the "ipconfig": Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection: Connection-specific DNS suffix . : Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::cd6a:e481:82ff:a027%x11 Autoconfiguration IPv4 address . . : 169.254.160.39 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . : 255.255.0.0 Default Getaway . . . . . . . : Ethernet adapter Local area connection: Media state . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS suffix . : Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 6: Media state . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS suffix . : Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 7: Media state . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS suffix . : Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 11: Media state . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS suffix . : Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 12: Media state . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS suffix . : K done :l Um.. idk whats wrong with it?... D: This is totally off topic but.... My user pic does not want to change. When I change it, it goes back to an orange flower it annoys and pisses me off.. so yeah, HELP. :** Last edited by whaturmom; 05-16-2009 at 01:57 PM. |

Re: GRR... What's with my internet :S
The indications are that you have either a mismatched encryption key or MAC filtering enabled on the router.
Try disabling all encryption on the router and see if you can connect.
