Sharing Internet Connection With Neighbor
I am a new member with moderate computing skills.
I want to share my internet connection with my daughter who lives next door. She gets a good signal from my Netgear wireless router at the window nearest my house, but the signal obviously drops to zero as you move away from the window. I would like to set her up with her own wireless router so that she can use her laptop anywhere in her house. Can she put a wireless router near her window such that it will communicate with my router and give her internet access through my wireless LAN? Can that be done? Thanks in advance. |

Re: Sharing Internet Connection With Neighbor
You might want to setup the encryption option in the router when is like a key to your house. This key will allow your daughter to see your network, but it will allow her to access your network securely. You must be able to access the router by an IP address in order to enable the encryption. The encryption option keeps other people from accessing your network, plus protects the information on the computers on the network.
