Connection Interruption While gaming
While playing Call of Duty 4 on Xbox 360 I continue to get connection interruptions intermittenly while playing multiplayer games. It either last for a few seconds or boots me from the game. When it does this I do not lose connectivty with xbox live or the internet. The modem does not turn off or none of the lights go off. I have connected directly to the modem and the problem still presist. I have open all relevant ports on the router. I have had at tech come and he says its not on thier end. Microsoft says its not on thier side. I believe i am having lag spikes at the modem for some reason. however, this is just a guess.
I have a Motorola SurfBoard 5101 routed through a linksys WRT400N router. I'm paying for 10megs of broadband speed. Speedtest show at the modem it close to this speed. here is the specs for my modem. Downstream Value Frequency 639000000 Hz Signal To Noise Ratio 36.6 dB Power Level 8.8 dBmV while typing this i have refresheed the settings a couple of times results are 15mins after frist check 2.5DBV 1 minute after previous check 5 DBV now 9 DBV I think this is my problem how do i fix it. here is the rest of the specs Upstream Value Channel ID 5 Frequency 33008000 Hz Power 48.8 dBmV No changee in upstreeam values |

Re: Connection Interruption While gaming
Register at DSLReports and run their Line Quality Tests. It's best to run this test with a direct wired connection to eliminate any wireless issues from the results. It's useful many times to run this test several times, and we'd like to see each of the results. Post the results link from the top of the test display page for each test run here.
The link to post is near the top of the page and looks like: If you wish to post this result to a forum, please copy/paste this URL http://www.dslreports.com/linequality/nil/2357195 <- sample only, yours will obviously be different! and your IP will be disguised. Copy/paste that link here. Note: You will have to enable PING (ICMP) request response either in your router (if you have one), or in your computer's firewall for direct modem connections. This is very important to get the most important part of the test to run. DSLReports Here's also the Line Quality Tests FAQ to help you understand the results. This will answer some questions about the line quality display.

Re: Connection Interruption While gaming
This is an ISP issue I would guess from the modem results. The "final" test would be to use a different computer to run some line quality tests directly connected to the modem as well. Many times the first thing the ISP guys say is it's your computer. I like to be ready to answer that with "no, it's not".
![]() I do have to say that the router results are somewhat of a mystery, they should basically mirror the modem tests, but they're much worse for some reason. You really should have no losses on those throughput tests, though a couple of missing pings on the lower panel are nothing to be concerned about. If I see any losses on the throughput tests, I look for solutions.
