weird problem with my network

this is my first time bare with me. ok so i want to connect my xbox to my laptop lan connection using my wireless router connection. however every time i bridge the lan and wireless connections i lose my internet and have to disable the wireless connection and reboot the computer. i can't figure out why the bridging of my two connections causes me to lose the internet. and then there is the fact that previously i had my buddies xbox hooked up the same way and it worked fine. i just can't seem to do it with my xbox every time the xbox says that it can't connect to the internet. but the reason is because the network bridge is crashing my internet plz help

Re: weird problem with my network

I have another solution for you to use. It's called Internet connection sharing ICS). Unplug your xbox 360 from the computer first if it's hooked up. in the lower right hand section right click your activity icon and left click on network and sharing center (not suree on XP). On current internet connection go to veiw status , properties, sharing tab and click enable ICS it may give you a pull down menu select LAN. disconnect that connection and reconnect it. You may have to re=boot after this. Plug in your cat 5 to your xbox and computer. you should be up and running, Xbox should be on auto settings. if you have anyproblems let mee know.

Re: weird problem with my network

Well, bridging is the preferred way to connect in this situation, since introducing ICS will give you a double NAT layer and probably cause lots of issues with the XBOX.

What's the version and patch level of Windows on the machine?

Re: weird problem with my network

The mobile network connection didn't introduce a second NAT layer, you need to understand the implications.
