Network Problem

I don't know what it is but I have tried about 3 different network cards in one of my systems and no matter which on eit is I seem to get a limited or no connectivity for that network card when I hook it up to my router but I have all the other systems working fine and connected but this one keeps giving me that error. It doesn't show an ip address that is in the range of what the rest of the ip addy's are for my network. and it doesn't even show the ip address for the default gateway the way my other systems do. Is it possible that the mainboard is going bad and just not reading from the ethernet card right?

Thanks

I'm afraid we need more information. Version of Windows in use, make/model of the router, make/model of the NIC, exact indications in Device Manager for the NIC, etc.

With one of the NIC's installed, and connected to the router, do this:

Open a DOS window and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL >C:RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.
