LAN 1 pc loses connection when other gets online

Hello all,

First post here. So let's hope this works. :) Because this has been driving me nuts.

I have 3 computers on my home network. For fun, let's call them PC A, B & C.

I am behind a Motorola Surfboard Cable Modem & a Vonage VT2442 Router.

PC A & B have Windows Vista Ultimate. PC C has Vista Home Premium.

Whenever PC B is online playing games like World of Warcraft or watching Videos, etc etc, and PC A get's online, PC B loses internet connection. It gets it right back most of the time. But I still don't know why PC A seems to be disconnecting PC B everytime it goes on the net. PC C is not effected by either PCs for some reason.

In short, PC B is playing a game online, PC A goes to Google, PC B loses net connection.

Any suggestions?

Let's see this for PC A and PC B on the network when they're connected, then I'd like to see it again when PC B gets disconnected for each of them.



Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD (COMMAND for W98/WME) to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands one at a time, followed by the Enter key:

NOTE: For the items below in red surrounded with < >, see comments below for the actual information content, they are value substitutions from the previous IPCONFIG command output!

IPCONFIG /ALL

PING <computer_IP_address>

PING <default_gateway_address>

PING <dns_servers>

PING 206.190.60.37

PING yahoo.com

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter to copy the contents to the clipboard.
Paste the results in a message here.

<computer_IP_address> - The IP Address of your computer, obtained from the IPCONFIG command above.

<default_gateway_address> - The IP address of the Default Gateway, obtained from the IPCONFIG command above.

<dns_servers> - The IP address of the first (or only) address for DNS Servers, obtained from the IPCONFIG command above.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
