My System

will this network adapter work in my computer

will this ethernet card a Intel Pro Desktop 10/100/1000 Gigabit PCI Network Adapter - OEM, work in my Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.66GHz, mobo GA-8S661FXM-775, x86 Family 15 Model 4 Stepping 1, Socket 775. it currently has onboard SiS 900 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter. im not a savvy computer person with that being said, if the new card will work and after i dl the correct driver for it what are the steps ill need to do when when i plug it in and power up my machine? i mean is there any thing technical ill need to do or is it pretty cut&dry simple like follow these directions BAM done. thxs for the help much appreciated.

As long as you have an empty PCI slot, yes the card will fit, install the card, boot install the drivers, you should have a connection.
