NIC stops receiving packets....need help!!
dear hardware and software experts,
it's been bugging me for a while, the situation is, i have an onboard lan and i'm connected to an internet but i've encountered this problem which been troubling me for quite a while and the worst case is, i was not able to use the internet service. the situation is, my onboard LAN stops receiving packets, i did the basic troubleshooting which is: uninstall the driver, disable and enable, renew the ip...ect, and the last option was format the whole thing but it won't still work...the thing that's bugging me is the padlock icon that i saw in the receiving activity of the LAN which divides the packets sent and the receiving state in the LAN activity. i really need an expert opinion. thanks in advance P.S. i was advised to buy a lan card but i won't coz i know there's still a solution. hope i will receive a reply ASAP |

Re: NIC stops receiving packets....need help!!
im connected directly to a modem(PROLINK) no router.
i tried using my laptop, but sad to say it works meaning i can browse the net. so nothing wrong with the cable...but when i transfer the cable to my desktop same old thing..that is why, i figured it out that it was the onboard LAN that has problem, what really puzzles me is that the LAN activity of my laptop has no padlock icon on it unlike my desktop. im starting to think, is my ONBOARD LAN locked which causes not to receive any data? if it was, so, there's still a chance to reverse the process, like unlock it..just my thought!!!

Re: NIC stops receiving packets....need help!!
well I am thinking that it could be a driver issue you right click on my computer go to properties then click hardware click device manager then go down the list look for network adapters also do you have the disk for your laptop? sometimes you need the Drivers off that like your network adapter drivers if you don't have the disk just use your desktop to download the network adapter or on board drivers from the laptop home page. I am thinking that it is only a simple driver problem

Re: NIC stops receiving packets....need help!!
how i wish its just a simple driver problem, but i've already installed all the drivers provided by the disk of the mobo. meaning there's no left ? and x in the device manager.
maybe it's time to buy a new lan card. i'll post an update once i'll figure out the problem. thnkx |
