Question Internet explorer cannot display the page

I tried to fix a pc that was working fine 1 day then wouldnt get the internet. I've checked the phone, router etc but couldnt get it to connect.

I brought it home and connected it to my router (ethernet cable) and i get the same thing.

I removed zonealarm in case it was the firewall and have removed antivirus software.

Can anyone help me please?

Re: Internet explorer cannot display the page

Question for ya? Can you open up a command prompt and ping a website and get 4 replies back? If ya need a how-to: start --> run-->type: cmd --> hit enter then command prompt should be up. It will be a black window with white righting and a cursor should be blinking. Type: ping www.google.com and then enter. let me know what happens.

Re: Internet explorer cannot display the page

Make sure to check your settings under Tools--> Internet Options --> Connection Tab and then make sure under LAN settings that nothing is checked unless you know for sure they should be.

Also, have you tried to ping a website to see if your actually getting a connection? Cause I know sometimes the problem may just lie in IE itself.

Get to the command prompt and then type: ipconfig /all exactly how I typed it and then post all info. tip you can right click in the command prompt and click select all and then just paste in the reply box on the forum.
