Network Not Connected to the Internet When It Is
I have recently returned home from college, where I had my Gateway desktop hooked up to the internet via ethernet. Now that I am home, and on the opposite side of the house from the router, I need to use my parents' wireless network. I have not had issues in the past with my old computer - this computer is new, just bought this past September.
The Network:
So, here is my issue. When I turn on my computer and connect to my Home Network, it reads everything perfectly and I have access to the Internet for about half a minute. After that, it pretty much kicks me off giving the error page that reads: Quote:
I just don't get it. The other computers in my house connect fine, and I never had any issues connecting with my old Dell Laptop. It even shows, when you hover over the 'Wireless' icon on the task bar, that I am connected, and that the signal is 'Strong.' I do not know what I am doing wrong, if anything, and I am very open to any suggestions. I am worried that it may be a card issue (yes I know it is an N Network card, but it should work fine with my G) or a Mac -PC compatibility issue. Both of them would be a pain to try and overcome. Thanks in advance for any held you all can give me :D |
