Good Morning,
I thought i would contact the Font of all knowledge and beg with difference for some help! I have three pcs that are networked. (lets call them pc 1,2,3) Pc 1/ has a database and is connected to all the others including a networked printer through a router Pc 2 & 3/ use this database, shared folders on pc 1 and also the printer via the router. THE PROBLEM: Pc 1 runs incredibly slow, the only thing that i can think off is that the networking is draining resources It is currently a P4 2.8ghz with 1.24gb ram and xp sp3 this is the main workhorse. any help would be greatfully recieved |

Re: Need Help on a Slow networking PC
Hi Maverick,
Can you please elaborate the "slow" on computer #1. What runs slow? everything? Was it working fine before and all of a sudden became slow? Does computer #1 run fast when you unhook it from the network at all? |

Re: Need Help on a Slow networking PC
PC1 has what kind of database/application that is being shared? Are there any processes that are running exceedingly high? If the drive is truly running that slow, then I'd suggest replacing it, however, I'd check the obvious first.
