VLAN Performance improvements
Hi everyone, I work at a secondary school and we have an offsite reprographics lab which is connected to us through a fibre link from a HP Procurve switch (2524) at the client end to a Hp Procurve (4108gl) at the main site. We have been told that there will be some prformance issues because the switch at the client will be picking up all of the MAC addresses at the main site therefore there will be constant data transfer??? My boss is conscious of this and wishes for me to set up a VLAN which he thinks will solve this problem. I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this or if anyone would like to make and suggestion on if this will work or anything else i can try. Thanks.
