Wireless network woe's
Heres my current network setup.
Isp:comcast Using an RCA cable modem hooked up to a Netgear WGR614v8 router with 4 computers hooked up wireless to the router. The problem is about 2 days ago i started having some extremely bad lag in halo 3 online games. For about 4 minutes into the Game the connection is always perfect. Then BAM connection drops and i only have 1 red bar instead of 5 green bars and it doesn't recovery until the game is over. Before that though my connection has always been perfect without a single problem. I've tried almost everything i could think of to fix it Disabling SPI firewall, chaning nat to open, using a different transmit channel, turning off upnp, putting it in a DMZ,opening ports but there is no change at all. When i hook my xbox 360 directly to the modem through an ethernet cord i have no problems at all. If anyone has any insight on to what could be causing this it would be much apperciated. |

Re: Wireless network woe's
If it were me I'd make sure I've got the latest firmware for the router to ensure this issue hasn't already been addressed. It's obvious that the router has something to do with it, so I'd look to the simple things first....make sure it's updated.
