Confused Software fault

Hi,
I've been asked by my friend to attach their new PC to their wireless home network. they are using a Linksys wireless router and adapter. i tried to run the setup disk but found it was damaged beyond repair. i went to the Linksys website and tried to download it but the file was a .bin extension. i couldn't run it, open it and i even tried burning it to disk as an image thorough Nero but still nothing.
does anyone have any suggestions.

Re: Software fault

The file with the .BIN extension is a firmware file, don't know what you expected to do with that.

I suggest you give us the exact model of the router and the wireless adapter. If you're missing the drivers for the wireless adapter, they're readily available from Linksys, and you need no drivers or software to configure the router.

Re: Software fault

i haven't even mangaed to get the software for the adapter on the pc yet. that was the disk i was on about. sorry if i was bad at describing it. the .BIN file is the one and only file they had for the model, it was the firmware.
