compaq presario v6000 Wireless Network problems
Hi there, new to the site, saw a closed thread on Google and none of the questions seemed to ask the same as mine. I already had sent my laptop off to the company to fix it, which they did, and it's been a good, four five months now and I can no longer connect wirelessly. The network states that it's too far, or whatever when i diagnose it. I read the manager john's response. I didn't see a yellow exclamation point or questionmark under the network area and heres the command prompt text.

Re: compaq presario v6000 Wireless Network problems
Did you try this machine on a different wireless network? Do other computers connect to the wireless router you're connecting to?

Re: compaq presario v6000 Wireless Network problems
Yes I did try it on a different network. Was at my friends house when I noticed it was no longer working. Said it was too far away when i was maybe a foot from the router. It says the same thing at my house.

Re: compaq presario v6000 Wireless Network problems
It sounds like the wireless card is either not working, or the antennas have become disconnected.
I'd first check the seating of the wireless card, most laptops have a small access door on the bottom that covers the wireless card. The tiny antenna connectors should be firmly connected and the card should be fully seated. Do this check with the battery REMOVED from the laptop.
