Please help me out!!
I'm running XP on a Dell and I have Verizon DSL . I have a Linksys Wireless-G card and a Belkin 54g router. I recently re-installed XP and updated to SP2. I also installed Norton internet Security. I used to have no problems connecting to my internet, but now, My internet is wayyyy slow...like 51Mbits/sec, and every few minutes I lose the connection (the icon in the system tray says "acquiring ip address." There are 2 other pcs in my house [one wired, and one wireless]--neither have trouble. I think that my ip is static. Can someone walk me through the solution to this? I've shut off the firewalls and that doesn't help. Please God, let there be a cure for this... |

You may want to check your IP lease time if you haven't already. You should be able to do so by logging into the router, via, routers IP address, there should be an option to change the lease settings, the optimal time for a lease is usually 2 weeks. Save the changes then power cycle the router afterwards. You may want to reboot the pc's also, just to make sure, the router is sending new data, and the pc's are receiving new data.
