Dial up problems
I wonder if anyone out there can tell me why my dial up connection shuts down during a long download?, it usually comes at a critical point, it is of course frustrating when i am near the end of a download, and it wipes out the whole thing, the window comes up to say you have been disconnected, would you like to reconnect? I am trying to install a free anti virus, which normally takes some time, by the way, it is not because i have reached the end of my dialup time! I would be grateful for any help many thanks.

It could simply be poor quality lines or the ISP, it's very had to say. Most folks that use dial-up tend to use download managers with the ability to resume downloads for that very reason. GetRight is one of many such download managers, there should be some free ones as well.
