windows vista - unidentified network
All right, I bought an Acer 6930 laptop running windows vista home premium and had it optimized by geek squad etc... Well I now have it at home and for some reason, it cannot connect to my router neither wireless nor by cable.
The laptop acknowledges that my router exists under the connections list, however when trying to actually connect to it, it cant. I'll go ahead and add that the router is unsecured so it shouldn't be anything like that. When connecting it straight from the router, it connects to an unidentified network which does not provide me with internet. I've been having another problem... I can't find the right ip address to log into my router... http://192.168.0.1 and http://192.168.1.1 don't work. I've tried resetting it but to no avail. I have a netgear model fvs114. I have been searching online for steps on how to set it up, but nothing seems to work. I would really appreciate help because I do not want to have to make a service call which can get pretty expensive if they have to come on site. |
