Wierd router problems.. Please Read / Help
I'll start from the beginning. Last night I was playing Warcraft 3, on Skype and watching some videos on youtube. All of a sudden I can't join games online WC3, I disconnect from Battle.Net and attempt to reconnect. It says there is no available internet connection.
I then refresh my browser page and it times out, I can't connect to any other sites at all.. Anyone would assume my nets gone out but Skype is still working.. I'm talking to my friends in realtime using the internet but cannot establish another connection to anything, browsers / games etc.. I restart and i can't connect to anything. I.. 1) Unplug modem / router for 10 minutes. Plug them back in - No change 2) Reset Modem / Router, wait 10 minutes. No change. 3) I direct connect to my modem and its working fine... 4) Replace the ethernet cord from modem --> router - No change 5) Try all four ethernet jacks in the router - No change. At this point my computer is recognising my router.. ipconfig /all shows my default gateway and my computer's network IP. I check on my lappy, the router is broadcasting a wireless signal but when i connect to it it has no connection to the internet.. :( :( I have a Linksys WRT54GS with firmware version 7.5. Please help ! |

Re: Wierd router problems.. Please Read / Help
Direct connect your computer to your router and go to 192.168.1.1 and sign in. Usually default login is:
User: admin Password: admin Check if you can ping google or something from there, or if you see anything that shouldn't be. Such as if you need credentials to log on the internet. Sometimes when things reset they are lost and you need to put in the log on, but if you have a prodiver like Comcast, usually it's pretty straight through. At that point check if you are on DHCP. -EDGE- |

Re: Wierd router problems.. Please Read / Help
I was screwing around to try and fix it.
I went to clone mac address page and it looked like the modem wasn't broadcasting an IP to my router. I cloned it and now everything works fine. Thanks for your help though edge |
