Good Day:)
I am having a problem with networking. I am a newbie but I do know how to do general things on the computer) change hard drives, put in memory, etc. ( took a little course). That being said, I am lost right now. I am trying to hook up a Linksys router. I have my desktop (Older Dell model) hooked up but then it says hook all computers up to the Linksys with an ethernet cord ( I thought that this was supposed to be wireless??). I also failed to mention is that I have an older computer that I would like to network with which is a Compaq Presario 5441 that I just did a new install of XP, I also installed a Linksys LNE 100 TX Fast Ethernet Adapter (LNE 100TX v4), and a D-Link Air Plus G DWL - G510 Wireless PC Card onto this computer. All of that being said, Do I have to hook these two computes up by ethernet cord? Shouldn't my Wireless PC card hook up to the linksys router without having to connect them with a ethernet? The whole process of doing this was to not have wires running all over the house. Any help would be so greatly appreciated. I am about to pull my hair out. I have looked all over the web before coming here and I am just at my wits end. I know that this is probably just a simple solution. Thanks for reading blackbeauti7777 |
