Connecting to router and three broadband
Hi,
Laptop Operating System: Vista I have a belkin router which the other computers on the network use, Im using a laptop which is on three mobile broadband (Huawei E160G usb modem), what im wanting to do is to connect to the router so I can access other computers and manage the network but i don't want to use the internet from router im wanting to use my mobile internet from three, I also don't want to purchase a router from three that allows me to plug my three usb modem into a router as three broadband will not be strong enough for computers and other things that use the network (xbox, wii) so is it possible to connect to my router but connect locally only and use internet provided by my three usb modem, is it possible to do at all and if so how can this be done please? Many Thanks Louis Last edited by loubymar; 01-12-2009 at 02:39 PM. |

Re: Connecting to router and three broadband
Yep, it's possible. Manually configure the connection to the local network and leave the Default Gateway and DNS Address fields empty. This will allow the one mobile broadband connection to be used for Internet, and the local connection for file/print sharing.
