Slow wireless
I have a new Dell inspiron 910 xp mini, the wireless is very SLOW.
I am using a Linksys wireless router (BEFW11S4) with the latest firmware. The 910 appears to be using a broadcomm airforce application. When I run the bradcomm site utility moniter, I see my network running at 11 MB. The other networks (neighbors) I see there are all runing at 54 MB. My network shows a type B while the others show B,G. I do have a strong signal. My old dell inspiron 5100 XP with a Linksys Adapter (WPC54G) as well as a couple of macs on this newtwork run great with great speed. Microsoft support was no help. Any ideas how I can get back to regulars speeds ? Thanks in advace |

Re: Slow wireless
Well, I'd be talking to Dell, not Microsoft.

Re: Slow wireless
Sorry, I meant Dell, not MS.
They want to charge me to fix thisw new laptop I just bought from them. I have two laptops sitting next to each other and web pages take 1 second on the old one and 10 secons on the new (bad) one. I did notice that there about 4-5 networks on channel 6 on the site moniter. |

Re: Slow wireless
Well, first step is to change the channel to one that isn't so busy. I'd try channels 1 or 11 in your situation.
