I have Netgear DG834Gv3 router, which has been working fine with my WG111v2 wireless adapter until I recently moved house, I've waited what seems like forever for my ISP (don't get me started on them, i've posted before about my annoyance with those f^@#%&s) to reconnect my broadband so have checked the router on an almost daily basis to see for signs of internet activity.
Now I am back online, it seems that my adapter has started playing up, the "Netgear Smart Wizard" software will work and install correctly, it will also scan an detect mine and a neighbours wireless access point, however even though I have provided the smart wizard with my correct passkey (WPA-PSK) the adapter will just say "Scanning..." and not connect to the router. I am now only online because I have plugged my PC directly into the router with Cat6 RJ45M cable, however the price of this cable was more expensive than a WG311 PCI internal card adapter so I tried that first, but that had the same results, so back to the shop in exchange for the RJ45M cable. I do know that the problem isn't with my router itself as my PS3 is working correctly (albeit dropping the connection every so often when it never did before). I'm fed up of trailing a 10m cable across my living room floor so any help would be most appreciated. |

Re: Wireless Adapter - Will find my network, but will NOT connect
Did you try disabling ALL encryption and MAC filtering to see if you can connect that way? Also, you need to remove all stored wireless profiles and start with a new connection.

Re: Wireless Adapter - Will find my network, but will NOT connect
I have removed all the wireless profiles & started a new 1, that hasn't helped.
How do I disable the encryption an MAC filtering? |
