Hello,
Perhaps you guys know... I connect to a wireless connection in my building with my 2 laptops. I now want to connect an IP phone to this network - problem is it doesn't have wi-fi capability so I need some sort of device which can connect to the wireless network and somehow transfer the network to the phone through a regular network cable... I have heard about a few devices (Linksys WAP54G Wireless-G Access Point / Linksys WET54G Wireless-G Ethernet Bridge) but I'm not sure what the differences between these are and which one would do the job... Would appreciate any comments / suggestions! Thanks, Jon |

Re: Wireless access point / bridge
The wireless bridge would be my choice for this job, that's what it's made for.
The WAP is used to extend the reach of the wireless by bringing a wired connection in and creating another wireless access point, hence the name WAP. ![]() The Bridge is used to connect two network segments wirelessly, that sure sounds like what you're trying to do.
