I am conected to the wireless and have no internet access

Hello;
I hope someone can help me. I have windows vista os on my laptop and I am conected to the wireless it sais that it has excelent signal but when I try to access the internet a messege pops up that sais that I am connected to wireles but have no internet acess.

That's because you're not really connected.

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows Vista.

Start, Programs\Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands:

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log

Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log

Reboot the machine.



Next, disable ALL encryption and MAC filtering on the router and see if you can connect that way.

After doing both of these things, please post another IPCONFIG /ALL if you're still having issues.
