E-mail issue, DNS server could not be contacted
At my job we cannot send e-mails to one company. We cannot even get to their website, but from outside of work we can get to the website fine and send e-mails ok. I checked in our e-mail filter and found this error message associated with the e-mails for the company we cant communicate with. "DNS server could not be contacted or generated an unexpected response". Our DNS server is Windows 2003 server.

Re: E-mail issue, DNS server could not be contacted
You need to be looking at firewalls or other gateways on the network. what happens if you do a TRACERT to the site?

Re: E-mail issue, DNS server could not be contacted
You might also want to try clearing the DNS cache on the DNS server, also do you have any "surfing" filters in place, that could be a culprit as well
