Hi there,
First of all, I just joined this site today. What a great site it is, I must say. Thanks to the Tech Support forums admins. My Problem: I have HP Pivilion TX 1320 with Windows Vista (64-Bit) running on it. I have the following wireless network card in my laptop: Broadcom 802.11 a/b/g WLAN Broadcom 802.11 b/g WLAN Broadcom 4321AG 802.11a/b/g/draft-n Wi-Fi Adapter Broadcom 4322AG 802.11a/b/g/draft-n Wi-Fi Adapter I turned on my Laptop today and it shows no wireless network in range and when I go into the Network connections it doesn't show the wireless network there either, like how it shows local area network, VPN network and other dial-up. Right now it is now showing the Wireless Network at all. I go into the device manager and even there it doesn't show my wireless network card there. My wireless internet is working fine because my brothers are connected to it, and its working just fine. Right now I'm using LAN Ethernet cable to connect to the internet. I had this same problem two days ago as well. But then it was fixed by it self, without me doing anything. I had asked a friend of mine to look into my laptop to see whats the problem and when he came to my house to look at it, I turned on my laptop and my wireless started working. But now again it is not working. Please somebody help me. I cannot stand wires around my laptop. Thanks a million. Regards, wish. |

Re: WLAN adapter sometimes detected and sometimes not detected by my laptop
My guess is the wireless card is failing, which would explain why it comes and goes.
Hold the Windows key and press R, then type devmgmt.msc Please respond to all the following steps.

Re: WLAN adapter sometimes detected and sometimes not detected by my laptop
Hi John,
In device manager under network adapters, it is not even showing wireless network adapter at all. It was showing up yesterday night, just fine but since i turned on my laptop today, it has not been showing up.None of the items under network adapter have the X or yellow mark on them. Regards, Wish |

Re: WLAN adapter sometimes detected and sometimes not detected by my laptop
Like I said, I think the wireless card is failing or has now failed. If it doesn't show up in Device Manager, it's not being recognized by Windows at all.
Have you opened up the bottom panel and reseated the wireless adapter? They can become loose in the mini-PCI slot at times.
