Can I use two wireless routers together?
Hi,
My client currently has two wireless routers, which are located in different parts of the house: AT&T 2Wire Wireless Router/DSL Modem (802.11b/g) Linksys Wireless Router (802.11b/g/n) The routers are physically connected to one another via Ethernet cable (actually, they connected via Ethernet to the home's built-in telephone wiring, and on the other side have the same conversion), but all the computers use wireless-N adapters with antennas that extends onto their desks. Is it possible to have the two routers working in tandem, both sending out the same SSID? I imagine it would provide a more redundant and reliable network. I imagine they would be on the same channel with the same name, but otherwise I'm unsure how you would have a single wireless network displayed. Any information as to how this would work would be appreciated. Thanks, DJ |

Actually, this isn't going to do what you want, and you certainly want them on different channels. I think you'll have to live with an interruption when you change locations.

Re: Can I use two wireless routers together?
That's not going to change the fact that the connection will be interrupted in the transition between the access points.
