Exclamation Network Connectivity - Unable to Renew IP

First post.... I hope I picked an appropriate category.

I am trying to assist my parents with an issue. Within the last few days, their PC has started having connectivity issues to the internet. It appears it is unable to renew the IP address. I have searched the forums, but haven't found a solution that is working yet.

Hardware Info:
HP Pavilion a1487c
Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002 SP2
Actiontec M1424WR Wireless Router w/ Verizon FiOS
Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Adaptor

I looked for recent software that might have been installed that would interfer, but haven't found anything that I would suspect.

Environment:
The PC is the only 'wired' connection on the wireless router. The wireless is also supporting 3 (sometimes 5) laptops and my iPhone. All have connectivity with no issues.

Steps I've Taken:
Powered Down/Restarted Wireless Router
Changed Ethernet Cable
Used 'Repair' Option for the Network Connection
Disabled and Re-enabled the Network Connection
Used ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew
Manually set an IP Address
Double checked firewall settings to ensure connectivity is allowed
Disabled and uninstalled the network adaptor and reinstalled

Not sure what other options still remain. Short of thinking the network adaptor itself is fried... any other steps I can take?

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2/SP3.

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands:

Note: Type only the text in bold for the following commands.

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults, type: netsh int ip reset reset.log

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults, type: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reboot the machine.



After the reboot with the cable connected, let's see this.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter to copy the contents to the clipboard.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
